Maria is also a co-founder of Flores de Juanita, a wellness company dedicated to promoting health for women of color, particularly in communities where alternative medicine is still shunned. This initiative is not just about offering relief; it’s about recognizing and addressing the unique needs of women facing life changes. As a proud second-generation Mexican American from Boyle Heights, she brings a rich cultural perspective to her work and community involvement. She is passionate about educating her community and highlighting alternatives for menopause relief, aiming to improve the quality of life for many women.

Outside of her professional life, Maria enjoys dancing, traveling, and collecting sacred hearts. She proudly embraces her roles as both a mother and a grandmother, making her a cherished figure in her community and a trusted mentor to her students.

Ana María Gaona, a native of San Fernando Valley, is a proud first-generation, bilingual daughter of immigrant parents from Oaxaca, Mexico, and Córdoba, Spain. After dedicating over 26 years to public service, Ana transitioned into her encore career as a multi-passionate social entrepreneur. She finds joy in connecting with people, giving back to her community, and encouraging everyone to discover their identities through travel, crafting lives that are authentic and true to their passions and talents.

Ana is committed to creating impactful businesses that break cultural barriers and eliminate stigma. She co-founded Flores de Juanita, a venture dedicated to redefining the narrative of women's health. Alongside her friends, Ana celebrates the freedom to explore new approaches, empowering women with choices in their wellness journeys. Through education, support, and advocacy for menopause complementary and alternative methods, Ana fosters a community where every woman can thrive uniquely.

In her downtime, Ana loves planning family trips and creating lasting memories together. As a mother of three and grandmother of two, she is passionate about forging new paths for adventure and enriching her family's legacy with unique experiences. Ana holds an MPA from Cal State-Northridge, has received the Dr. Davidds’ Leadership Institute Resilient Leadership Negotiation Certificate, and is an honors recipient of the USC Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Program.

With a doctorate in Educational Leadership from U.S.C, Lucero currently directs her efforts towards supporting educators in bolstering multilingual student achievement.

As a co-founder of Flores de Juanita, Lucero's initiative is driven by a heartfelt mission: to provide women of color with easily accessible natural products specifically tailored to alleviate the effects of perimenopause and menopause. This endeavor is not just about offering relief; it's about recognizing and addressing the unique needs of women from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that they have access to effective solutions that promote their overall well-being. Through Flores de Juanita, Lucero seeks to empower women to navigate this significant life transition with comfort, dignity, and support.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Lucero finds fulfillment in her passions for fitness and family time. Recently retired from a distinguished 30-year teaching career, Lucero's retirement has opened the door to indulging in her love for global travel, enriching her understanding of diverse cultures and landscapes worldwide.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Sandy is a portfolio entrepreneur, steering ventures in insurance and the travel industry. However, what truly sets her apart is her steadfast commitment to education, philanthropy, and embracing change. Sandy's commitment goes beyond her own growth; she passionately strives to inspire and empower women to step beyond the ordinary and seize transformative opportunities.

Together with her closest friends, Sandy co-founded Flores de Juanita, a venture dedicated to empowering women to navigate the challenges of menopause with support, free from cultural or community stigma. Their mission is clear: to provide natural resources and solutions to women embarking on this significant life transition.

In her current phase of life, Sandy recognizes the paramount importance of self-care. This realization fuels her efforts to nurture her mental, physical, and psychological well-being, allowing her to fully savor life's pleasures unencumbered by the challenges of menopause. During her leisure time, Sandy indulges her passion for genealogy, immersing herself in historical narratives, and meticulously planning her next global escapade.
